Site Visitors by City

Posted by Jimmy on Jan 28, 2008 in Important News

That cluster map thing is cool. I have a similar service called Google Analytics running in the background on this site as well. It gives me a lot more information about site traffic, including the locations of visitors just like the cluster map. I wanted to share a map that gives a little more detail about the site traffic, so here it is:

hello world

thank you for your support and for keeping me in your prayers. when i see all of your comments on the blog i feel energized. reading all of your words takes me to places i cant go right now because i am so restricted. in a way its like being in jail. kind of. sometimes its hard to think of what to say but what i have learned is that life is short and there are no guarantees it is hard to remember how i feel sometimes but if you ask how i feel about my recovery i feel like a bull. as long as everyone has hope it keeps me alive. i really do mean keep hope alive it is my slogan

Website Update: Full Disclosure

Posted by Jimmy on Jan 3, 2008 in Important News

I apologize for the website being down this last week. A lot of people look to this site to get updates on Mike, myself included, so I know how important it is to have the site active.

About a week ago, I started upgrading my server from PHP4 to PHP5 (boring technical stuff). After I finished, for some reason the post order of Mike’s blog had reversed and I was unable to resolve the issue in any easy manor.

To make a long story short I ended up have to redo the site, every post, & every comment. In order to preserve my sanity and to save time, I have bulk posted many of the comments into several posts located under the “Comments” category.

Thank you everyone for your patience during this upgrade.  I will be adding forums over the next few days, part of the reason I went through this upgrade in the first place.  More info when the forums become available.

Happy New Year!

    Michael,

I am so sorry for freaking out on you Sunday. Of all your incidents this is the one that only you have the control over in fixing. It did not help me that the radio was playing Momma, take this badge off of me, and Fire and Rain. I had to get away from the lunacy and think and talk. I have spoken with you, GOD and prayed a lot. While there is nothing i can do other than lend you my strength and love, i am satified that you will be back, and all of us will be there to greet you with our arms wide open. Your sisters need you, your mom(s) need you and your dad(s) need you. Your brother and friends are waitng for you. Your life is not over, you have to fight through this. It will be a very long and painful journey, but we are all there to help get you back. God Bless you son and good luck. I love you

    Dad

    Mike,

We’ve been a big part of eachother’s lives and I can’t imagine not having you around. Because ALL of us feel this way about you, I know that you’ll get better. You’re one of the most stubborn people I know (except for maybe me). If anyone can get through this, it’s you.

    Love you,
    Amanda

I can remember when I first meet Mike (and his brother Nate) at Stonewall Park Pool back in the summer of 1996. They were up there almost everyday that first summer I worked up there. Both boys first struck me as especially kind hearted and they still continue to exude care and compassion throughout their adult years. I know Mike is strong and he’ll pull through this ordeal stronger than ever. My thoughts and prayers are with he and his family at this time. Nate - please call on me if there is anything I can do for you or your family.

    Sincerely,
    Reid Dunn

Michael michael michael quite the pickle we’ve gotten ourselves into here… Well know through this process i have already seen so much support from all of our peoples, its been tremendous-you really would be proud. MANASSAS REPRESENT! And you know i was talking to nate and shannon about this hurr scenerio and the one thing that everyone knows about you is your strong will (not to be confused with stubborness) and just your utter personal strength. Knowing how strong you are as a person has been helping me get through this. Although… I do know in life there are some fights that you cant go it alone, so in this one please know that i will be by your side every step of the way and lend you all the stregnth i have. Good luck and Godspeed in your recovery brother. One love.

I hear comas can be very refreshing. I know in Mike’s mind he is relaxing on the deck of his private yacht, chopping across the north Atlantic somewhere between the outer banks and Bermuda. He is SO comfortable, it will be some time before he realizes he is alone on his luxury vessel. Then he will awaken into a world of love, and be with all the people that care for him so much. Then he will be mad at us for waking him from such an awesome and comfortable dream.
I need to hear you laugh Mike. Come home bro, well get you a bigger boat.
    One love.

    Hey Mike,

I’m sorry I didn’t get to talk to you on Friday. I got your voicemail message at work and heard you say under your breath, “man, I don’t have a cell phone, I’ll just talk to you on Monday.” I’m sorry I didn’t get back to you sooner, I didn’t even think of the possiblity that I wouldn’t be able to talk to you on Monday. When I found out what happened, the first thought that popped into my head was how strong you are. I know you will pull through this. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers everyday. I have been praying to God asking him to give you even more strength to get through this. Your family and your friends need you. Show them how strong you really are.

    xoxo,

    Joc

I was a friend of Mike’s when we went to high school together, unfortunately I have not seen him since but I know he is a friend of my brothers. I know that you will pull through this Mike. Look at all the awsome support and love that you have in this world. You have a lot of living to do, so wake up and start fresh. We are all waiting here for you in body and in spirit. Much love to his family and all those pulling and praying for Mike. God Bless.
  8. Jenn
    Mike,
Like all your friends say you are so strong, and I know you will pull through. You have such a huge loving support system in your family and friends and you are such a big light and presence in people’s lives none of us would let you do otherwise. Whether we see you everyday or just once in awhile you are always such a caring, fun understanding and unbiased person that people can’t help but enjoy your company and want you around. We were sad to hear what happened but we know that you are determined and will come back to everyone soon. You are in our thoughts and prayers here in Minneapolis. I hope you make a strong and quick recovery. -With Love-

    Mikaay,
Look at this outpouring of love for you my man. When you come to and are reading these posts, simultaneously laughing and crying and trying to make sense of it all, you should take solace in the fact that these comments aren’t FOR you…they are BECAUSE of you. You should be proud of the life you have led thus far my friend, namely the accomplishment of making so many people love you like they do, and your work is not finished. They say that courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgement that something else is more important than fear. And you are that kid my man, the people by your side are courageous and hopeful instead of afraid, and its because you’ve made them that way, and made them think that way about you. I wish you and your family as much hope and love as I can muster, and can’t wait to hear from you. One

Mike, You are a strong young man and I now that you are going to be ok. We are all thinking about you and praying for a quick recovery. I have been keeping close tabs on you through Bobby. I know I have not been to Manassass in awhile but if you wanted me to come up YOU JUST NEEDED TO ASK. (LOL) Now that has been said, I love ya man and I will be there when you wake up.

Mike We love you. You are our oldest grandson who has giving us so much joy to watch you grow into a find young man. Granpa and I brag all the time about our grandchildren. I know that you are strong and you have all the family pulling for you. I will be there Saturday to hold your hand and tell you how much I love you. Granpa has to work so I will respresent us both. Love you and get plenty of rest. Love Bouiffee/Pops

Hey buddy! I know you are going to pull through this. I wish I was there right now. My mom works at the hospital. I have her checking on you and your family everyday. I’ll be there for a week on Thanksgiving, but I know you’ll be all better by then and I’ll get to hear that crazy laugh of yours. You’re a warrior and probably one of the most stubborn people I’ve ever known. I KNOW you can do this.

Lots of love and prayers from Texas,
    Kristin

Mike we are all praying for you and hoping for a quick recovery. If you need anything don’t hesitate to call. Get well soon.

Anyone who knows me knows I have a quote for everything. But finding one for this moment is difficult. So I have chosen 3.

“To have a good friend is the purest of all God’s gifts, for it is a love that has no exchange of payment. It is not inherited, as with family. It is not compelling, as with child. And is has no means of physical pleasure, as with a mate. It is, therefore, an indescribable bond that brings with it a far deeper devotion than all others.” (Frances Farmer)

And for Mike, me, his family and all of Manassas: “That is the best - to laugh with someone because you think the same things are funny.”

And for Mike Winston Churchill once said “Never, never, never give up.”

I want to thank his mother and family for allowing me to see him.

I want you to know, Mike, that even though I can’t visit at the moment, I will as soon as I get home. I’m there in spirit supporting you all the way. You’re in my thoughts and prayers. I love you very much. Hang in there, honey.
  7. Pam Roseberry
Rae: I have not stopped thinking about this since I got the first e-mail. I immediately sent up a prayer for your son and your family, again this morning, and again tonight. I have a 19 year old so I can only imagine the impact this has on you and your family. Every day counts so I will continue to pray for his recovery. With Love,

I’m so happy to hear about your improvement tonight! It may not be much, but it has given me a true reason to smile tonight. Be the strong person you are, get some rest tonight, keep on fighting, and I’ll see you tomorrow. We love you!
  9. Rachelle
Mike - my brotha-man! I’ve been on the phone all evening trying to change my flights to come and see you. I will be taking a red-eye from the westy coast and will be coming in on Monday. The fires are crazy out here in Cali. Lots of smoke and soot. I will have to show you pics when you wake up. I really wish I could leave work now. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers every day and I know you will pull through this. You need the rest, but wake up soon, so I can laugh at your laugh again AND so I can talk your ear off. Admit it - you are a fan of my long, drawn-out stories! BTW - I appreciate you for always picking me up at the airport and dropping me off when I come into town (while everyone else was too busy watching the Redskins) for the past 5 years. I know I could always count on you and the boys. I love hopping into your jeep and being challenged to light up our cigs with the wind blowing every which way. Cruising down 28 with a (finally) lit cig in hand and you joking on me, always made me feel like we were 16 again and that I had arrived at (aaahhh….)home sweet manassas. I have been all over and there is no one like you and no other place like manassas. We all have that carefree nature and readiness to get in trouble - it’s in the blood and not the water. But you are the king of that! Oh, how we never change and for all the years I’ve known you, I know this much…YOU ARE A FIGHTER! We all love you so much and I will see you very soon.
  10. Uncle Ron
Mike, I have been looking at pictures your friends have brought to the hospital, photos Amanda brought last night and the notes left in your room. You are loved by so many. They have known and loved you for a long time but they don’t have the photo of you, Cheyenne, Jeremiah and Nathan in your underwear in Oklahoma! Just thinking about you now brings a joyful tear and the biggest smile. What a wonderful man you have become.

Grayson loves playing “Do you like knuckles? Do you like sandwiches? You want a knuckle sandwich?” with you. We love you so much and we pray for your speedy recovery. There are a lot of knuckle sandwiches to be had.

Love, Uncle Ron, Aunt Kirsten, Parker and Grayson

    My dear Mike,

I keep thinking about when you came over and hung out with us, watched the skins. Your beautiful smile and how happy you were that day. I keep remembering when we went to see Grandma and she made fun of your shorts and how you laughed at her. We’ve been through alot and I have always been proud of how strong you are. The past few days have been unbearable, but I think about your strength and it keeps me going. You have so many people that love and adore you. I know you will get through this, we will all get through this together. I love you Mike!

  12. Jimmy
    Mike,

Man these last few days have been crazy. Shannon and my Dad were hanging out together, Justin and Me stopped talking smack on each other (for the most part :p). Matt came out of the closet…

In all seriousness, your family and friends have banded together in this time of hope to focus our energies on helping you recover from this tragedy. If it was an option, I think you would have about 50 candidates for a brain transplant right now. In other words, I can speak for everyone when I say, We wish we could do more.

We are all here for you buddy. Every single one of us.

    Get well soon,

    Jimmy

  13. Uncle Greg & Aunt Dorothy
    Mike,
You’re a strong man physically as well as mentally, and I know you will put all that together and fight your way back. You need to know that there are people from our Air Force family praying for you literally all over the world. From Southeast Asia to Western Europe to Southwest Asia, people are praying, and there’s no limit to the power of that! “…with God nothing shall be impossible.” (Luke 1:37)
Justin is making the trip up to see you in the next couple days, and Brandon is calling us daily wanting to know how you’re doing. Be strong! We love you very much.
  14. Amanda
It was great to hear of your improvements (and see!) last night… I just wanted to let you know I think about you every single second and pray for you almost as often! I miss your laugh and your jokes… stay as strong as we all know you are, and wake up soon!
  15. Nick
Jennings Michael Rosner, our Brother from another mother. The house is not the same without you, life is not the same without you. We need to hear you speak, we need to hear you laugh. Who is gonna tie my tie now? I guess I’ll have to borrow a clip-on from Karl, or maybe learn how to tie one myself, fancy that…..

All jokes aside, I have never had somebody that was close to me go through what you are currently going through, it is truly painful. At the same time, we all know how strong you are and that you will pull through. Seeing such an overwhelming response from so many people has been extremely inspiring. We are all in your corner and praying for your recovery, we know you will overcome, and we will be right by your side the entire time. We cannot wait for you to come home, God Bless you,

    Nick

Michael…a son, a brother, a grandson, a nephew, a cousin, a friend. You’ve touched the deepest core of our beings with your strength, courage, fight, and undying will come out on top. It’s amazing because we are all out here trying our best to be strong for you, but in all actuality you are the one being strong for us. It figures right, Mikey? I know in my heart that you are a survivor. You will get through this. I know this, I know you.

I want everyone that reads this to stop for a moment. Close your eyes and picture Mike..see him. Then picture all the energy around him going into his body to heal him. Picture the positive energy around him and picture Mike getting better, healing. See it. Give him all your energy for this moment and know that every single ounce that he gets helps. He would do the same for you. It all starts with intention. Put your thoughts out there in the universe and the intention will take care of itself. “Intention has infinite organizing power.” This means by being clear on a desired outcome has a profound effect on achieving that outcome. Now we all know what that desired outcome is so…see it, give it your intention, your energy, your attention. It will happen.

And Michael..you hold a very special place in my mind and heart. Our history speaks for itself…I love you. You are my family and we will get through this. Accept the energy coming your way and like always you will come out on top!!

  17. Austin Michael
I don’t even know where to begin Michael………you have no idea how infuriated I am with you right now and you know why with me. I guess I was the last to know what happened, guess I should start answering my phone. I don’t know whether to cry, to yell, to laugh or just flat out be angry with you. I can barely control myself in class right now, and that is why I am not there with you right this second. Like my brother, you and I have been on a different level many times, in conversations, and in our actions, which is apparent to everyone. There is no doubt in my mind you are strong enough and brave enough to make healthy recovery. I am coming up tomorrow to see you, which I have tried to make every excuse not to, I don’t want to see like this, but you have given me no choice.
Everyone loves you Michael, and like always brother, I got your back, and will be here for you through thick and thin. I don’t know what I would do if I couldn’t hear that ridiculous laugh with that goofy-ass smile. Well I am smiling for you brother, because I know you are going to be allllll right! See you this weekend, love ya bro…….and you made me start praying again
  18. Kate
Michael, I remember when your mom was pregnant with you–it seemed like all she did was giggle with excitement the entire time, her smile beaming all the way across her face. And your dad–well, he just glowed, proud as a peacock, shoulders back, ready to take it on and do right by you. You’re making them very proud again–making all of us proud–with your work to heal yourself. I can’t imagine how hard this is for you but look at how many people are here taking it with you. You hurt and they hurt and you rally and they rally. Keep moving forward, Michael. Lean on us. Continue to make us all proud.

How to add Images to your Comments

Posted by Jimmy on Oct 22, 2007 in Important News

To inset an image into your comment, you must have already uploaded the image to the web. If you have not done this yet, I suggest visiting www.ImageShack.us or www.Flickr.com. Both are free, ImageShack does not require you to register, so it is very light weight.

After you have uploaded the image, you will need the URL of the image. This will look like: http://www.imageshack.com/photo111/filename.jpg, for example.

Copy the image location and begin to post your comment.

To insert an image you will need to type refer to the following tutorial. Simply type the instructed code into the comment box and you will be able to post an img (think myspace comments).

http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_images.asp

I apologize for not being able to explain it clearly here, it is rather difficult to get code to display within a WordPress Blog

If you need help, email me @ jim@ditoweb.com and I will assist you in any way I can.
