Having come so close to losing someone I love so much, there’s this….
The hospital hallway is closing in; bury my head in fathers chest
gasps down into the hollow of my guts
squeezed in between shivers
and down there..
waiting patiently to be found
a truth

It had been in front of my eyes my whole life
winking as our paths crossed
knowing that when I picked it up
I would have it forever

Love

this truth shot out like light in a diamond
and is spinning around; sparkling onto the dance floor
onto the roller skating rink
through the water of the pool
and into the eyes
where it sinks down
and we sink down
and lie on our backs
staring up at the sun
and smile

Through the experiences of Mike’s earliest prognoses, and all the ones thereafter, laughter like never before erupts between him and I.

After not being here for four days, we have spent the afternoon with Mike today talking and laughing . A family meeting with the therapists and doctors, and some bedside chillin. I am here now with mike, and here is what he has to say so far when i ask him what he wants to say to you. ” I have just one thing to say; keep hope alive.” I wrote that after telling him all of the people that have been reading and posting. How influential his story has become and just how much he means to all of us.  I am inspired by this man more and more as time goes on. He has strengthened himself now I believe stronger than ever. This may be better considered alchemy than an accident. Maybe we will call it accidental alchemy. Either way, his heart and soul have erupted from his core as gold. It is the most beautiful, exciting thing i have ever witnessed. Keep hope alive.

Donations

If you would like to contribute to help defray the cost of Michael’s medical expenses, donations will be accepted and are greatly appreciated.
